Support from French-speaking cantons for the Tour de Romandie
In 2008, the Berne Jura joined the cantons of Fribourg, Geneva, Jura, Neuchâtel, Valais and Vaud in lending financial support to the Tour de Romandie.
Convinced by the organising committee's efficiency and dynamism, and by the Tour's important media coverage, its international impact and its popularity, the cantons are continuing their financial support for the 2010 to 2012 editions on the same basis as the three previous years.
In August 2009 the Tour obtained the UCI ProTour label until 2012, proof that the international cycling authorities recognise the value of this event
