Europe's smallest town hosts the second stage of the Tour de Romandie<\/b><\/p><p>An emblematic town in the Gl\u00e2ne district, Rue is a medieval village gracefully spread out at the foot of its famous castle, which overlooks the upper Broye valley. Once belonging to the Lords of Rue, the small town later became Savoyard before definitively passing into Fribourg hands in 1536. It housed bailiffs and other prefects until 1848. To discover its history, the tourist office offers a fun and educational trail: the <em>Secret Circuit Street<\/em> offers the opportunity to access austere and mysterious buildings. Stop for a while to discover this little gem. Southern Gl\u00e2ne is a cycling land. All enthusiasts will tell you so. In a green countryside still spared from urbanization, two-wheeled enthusiasts are in paradise! Off the asphalt, mountain bikers are also spoiled with more than 200 km of marked and well-maintained trails. As our song tells, the cobblestones will start singing. Various routes can be found here: walking paths through fields and forests, the Gustave Roud trail, and even the Camino de Santiago (via Jacobi 4). The latter makes a stop (a checkpoint) at the picturesque small chapel dating back to 1737. From the highest point, near the reservoir, we can admire both the Jura and the Alps mountain ranges, with the help of the orientation table.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">We are twinned with the French village of Droiturier, in the Allier region, near La Palisse. Culturally speaking, by going up the valley for 4 km, we can benefit from the rich program of the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Jorat, nicknamed the Sublime Barn. The municipality is served by several postal bus lines connecting Moudon to Lausanne; one of the stops is located next to the municipal inn, LES TROIS SUISSES.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">Finally, Vucherens appears between the Bressonne and Carrouge rivers.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">The inhabitants are called CHOUETTES.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">Living in Vucherens is pleasant.
